Westwater Resources is building the Kellyton graphite plant in Alabama to produce battery-grade graphite, with its own Coosa deposit nearby as a future feed source. Graphite is the largest ingredient by weight in most lithium-ion batteries and remains dominated by Chinese supply. Westwater has signed offtake with battery makers and is commissioning production close to the growing Southeast battery corridor.
